Welcome to Part II of my Downton Abbey season 6, episode one fashion post! In the first part, I looked at a couple of Lady Mary’s envy-inducing ensembles, and now I’m going to take a look at two of Lady Edith’s glamorous getups. Make sure to check out the first part if you haven’t already!
Lady Edith has really come into her own fashion-wise the past couple of seasons. Her style has become more glitzy and seductive while still managing to look refined. In my opinion, Edith has even been occasionally outdoing Mary in the fashion department. Let’s have a look, shall we?
Lady Edith, Look One:
Can I just say how much I love, what I would like to dub, The Golden Goddess Costume. I adore the glowy gold color, and Lady Edith’s accessories are on point. You glow girl! 😉
Get the Look:
To get this look opt for a slightly slouchy gold/metallic dress and add on some shimmering accessories to complete the outfit.
If you’d rather not wear a dress, go ahead and wear a glitzy top. Just choose a flowy golden one and pair it with similar accessories in order to make it more 1920’s glam.
Armband? Check. Headband? Check. These fun accessories kick the look up a notch.
Lady Edith, Look Two:
So confession time: I couldn’t figure out if this costume is a super dark navy or black. Since I couldn’t decide (whoops), I’m going to offer outfit options in both colors! Hey, at least you’re getting more options! But seriously though, what do you guys think? Navy or black? I’m leaning more towards navy. Color issues aside, I’m really digging Edith’s blouse with its sheer long sleeves and embroidered detailing. The pleated tea length skirt ain’t too shabby either! Edith is the epitome of sophistication here.
Get the Look:
This look is easy to put together, but it still manages to make a statement. Pair a long sleeved semi-sheer blouse with a pleated skirt. Make sure to leave the blouse untucked to give it a 20’s vibe. Then top it all off with a long necklace and voilà! Instant Downton Abbey fashion statement. You can make it more demure by choosing a midi length like Edith’s, or you can give it some contemporary sass by choosing a mini one.
A long necklace is a 1920’s fashion staple. Take style cues from Lady Edith and complete this effortless outfit by adding one:

I think Lady Edith’s second outfit was probably a dark navy blue, like blue black hair dye? Anyway, the golden dress look is definitely a (good) way to stand out at a party.

Lady Edith definitely has exquisite taste. She sure has come a long way in the last couple of seasons.I sure hope she has better luck in London, away from her unlucky life in Downton. In my opinion Lady Edith has much more fashion sense than Lady Mary. Great post!
