Halloween is nigh! Literally, it’s only one day away. If you’re like a lot of Halloween enthusiasts, you’re probably gearing up to watch some scary movies. That’s why I just had to recommend a period drama that’s perfect for Halloween: Stonehearst Asylum. It’s a thrilling trifecta of Gothic, romantic and creepy, and it also happens to be loosely based on an Edgar Allen Poe story entitled The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether.
I’ve a confession to make. I’m addicted to those silly, non-scientific Buzzfeed and Playbuzz quizzes. It’s a guilty pleasure of mine that’s made even more pleasurable when I happen upon one that’s related to period dramas. I typically lean towards rich, deep-colored nail polishes, so whenever spring comes along, I struggle to lighten up my nail polish palette. Luckily, with it being October, I can wear my dark colors without fear of looking out of sync with the season. Yippee!
Those looking to add to their fall nail polish collection will rejoice in these beauty discoveries that I recently made. These varnishes are perfect for classic literature and period drama lovers such as myself. But even without that, these colors are both unique and gorgeous and are sure to appeal to anyone with an eye for beauty.

Lady Edith has really come into her own fashion-wise the past couple of seasons. Her style has become more glitzy and seductive while still managing to look refined. In my opinion, Edith has even been occasionally outdoing Mary in the fashion department. Let’s have a look, shall we? Continue reading
